Losing parents to Covid, many children stare at uncertain future
Parents now have one more worry apart from COVID-19 -- what happens to the children if the rest of the family tests positive for the virus and are whisked away to hospitals or care centers?
At the district level as per the directions of the District Collector for the care of the parents of children who died due to Covid-19 or the families who were treated in the hospital due to Covid in the wake of the second outbreak of Covid in West Godavari district Three child care centers have been set up at 1) Bethesda Children's Home, Rustumbad, Narsapuram. 2) 3F Swabhiman Foundation, Rachur, Thadepalligudem, 3) Mother Theresa Children Home - Kovvur. The district probation officer, M Sarath Babu, told the Juvenile Welfare Department that if there were any children or girls orphaned due to Covid, they should immediately call the toll free numbers 1098 and 181 and provide their information.
